Intro:
We kick off the sixth round of this year's Diamond Boxing Tournament with two different tales of fighters. Alice Goodwin (3-2) has seen her career move back in the right direction after winning three of her five bouts in this event. Alexandria Morgan (0-5) can't seem to buy a win. Can the Enterprise Center Saint Louise crowd help Alexandria get a victory or can Alice keep this momentum going?

Before the bout both women got a chance to speak their mind on camera. Alice spoke after a jog around her stables gym, she is wearing a red sports bra with white stripes down the sides, matching joggers, white trainers with her hair tied into a braid.

Stopping outside the gym doors, Alice tells the camera "this is the stable where champions are made. I am blessed to have joined them and look at me now. They have helped me with my fitness, my motivation and while I won't win this tournament, I am ready to take the next step after it and become a champion." Flexing her arms as she sticks out her tongue to show her cheeky side, showing where she is mentally right now after a rough few years in the ring.

Alexandria meanwhile spoke on camera as she sits on a beach wearing a white bikini. She crosses her legs as she takes a moment to take in the scenery. She then says "I wanted to show you guys where I have been coming the past month since my last bout. I have been training my cardio here, doing some pad work with my coach as I need to get out my own head. Too much I have been thinking about what is going wrong and not letting myself be free."

She brushes a few loose hairs behind her ears before she says "Alice might think that she is going to walk through me. I know she still has that mental weakness. When I pressure her that scared girl will show itself. I am not going to finish this tournament last." More a statement to herself it seems with the last part. Not wanting the wooden spoon.

Fight Night! Out comes Alice with her coach Natascha McElhone behind her. Alice jogs down the aisle to the ring wearing a navy blue robe. Which comes off as she is beside the ring, revealing a navy blue sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves with blue thumbs, hair tied into a braid. Alice taps her gloves together as she steps into her corner.

Alexandria begins her walk to the ring with her coach to her right. She has a red sports bra on, matching shoes and gloves, a half red and half stars and stripes designed trunks, while her hair is in a ponytail. She steps inside the ring with her eyes on Alice. Alexandria knows this is really her last life to not finish bottom, a loss here and she is guaranteed to be finishing last.

The fighters are brought to the middle of the ring by the referee. Final instructions read out as the fighters look each other over..once that is done, they nod to each other as they bump gloves to show respect. Back in their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Out both come with single punches being exchanged early on. Alice looking to rough up Alexandria on the inside when the pace starts to quicken up. Alexandria responds with a few nudges to the face of Alice to create some space, landing a few solid shots back into the face of the older woman.

A double jab catches Alice on her forehead to open her up to a right cross flush on her face to drive her back. Alexandria holding the middle of the ring now, looking confident as she is landing several combinations. Alice on the other hand has tightened her guard up as she throws single punches, trying to work out how to close back up to her opponent.

They exchange a little more at midrange nearer the end of the round. Still Alexandria looks content with her work rate, Alice on the other hand looks a little annoyed by being pegged to her face with piston like shots. The bell rings to end the opener with Alexandria nodding to her corner crew that she is feeling great.

Round 2:
Cagey start to the second as Alexandria looks to keep the action at range. Alice needing to move her upper body more to create openings to strike. Both women are starting to get a few marks on their faces as feet are being planted for extra power in these exchanges.

An overhand left smacks Alexandria to her jaw. Alice takes her chance to drive Morgan to the ropes. Pounding the torso of the blonde beauty with a mixture of shots. Alexandria needs to push off Alice to get into space. Jabbing and moving to try to keep Alice off kilter.

Alice though showing her experience to cut off the ring late in the round. Pounding Alexandria back into a neutral corner. The bell rings with Alexandria looking to the ceiling trying not to curse before walking to her corner. Alice meanwhile taps her gloves together looking keen to get on with this fight.

Round 3:
Using her footwork and jab to try to hold off Alice. Alexandria landing a few solid blows into the face of Alice to knock her head back. Alice crouches under a straight to land several hooks into the ribs of Alexandria to make her hiss. Both are fighting hard through the opening minute to try to win the exchanges.

A short left hook lands near the temple of Goodwin to back her off. Morgan comes in with a straight to knock her back to the ropes, where she is being aggressive with her power punches. Alice shelling up as Alexandria is wanting to bust her up. Forcing Alice to clinch up when she has a chance too.

Broken apart by the referee with under a minute to go. Alexandria is showing real motivation to win this despite her poor record. Alice needing to move to stay off the ropes as they trade. Alexandria the one throwing more combos between them. The round ends with Alexandria clenching her fists tight while looking fired up. Alice meanwhile is being told off Natascha to not take this fight lightly.

Round 4:
Alexandria again starting off quickly as she is after the upset here. Alice needing to keep her guard high to try to protect herself from the early flurries coming her way. Leading to Alice being forced around the outside part of the ring again by the blonde fighter.

But as they enter the second minute, Alexandria hasn't quite found a big shot to put Alice under control. That allows Alice to find an opening as she dips under a straight to land a right of her own into the breadbasket of Alexandria. The American star gasps as air is driven out of her.

Suddenly momentum has firmly changed hands as Alice now beats back her opponent. Alexandria not landing with as many punches as she was before. While Alice is also landing the heavier punches as Alexandria is being knocked back with sweat flying. The bell dings with Alexandria sitting on her stool trying to catch her breath. Alice meanwhile is tapping her gloves together as she stares at her opponent hard.

Round 5:
Out they come with Alice touching up Alexandria around her stomach. Alexandria is not liking that as she is giving up ground. Alice lands a straight on the chin of her opponent to knock her onto her heels as Alice turns up the heat.

After a hard opening minute for Alexandria; things don't get better when an overhand left knocks her into the ropes. Her guard goes up, BUT A RIGHT TO THE LIVER AREA OF ALEXANDRIA TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER RIGHT KNEE AFTER CRYING OUT IN PAIN!

Alice walks over to the neutral corner with hands on her hips as she stares at Alexandria. 1....2....3... Who is fighting back tears as she spits out near gumshield. 4....5....6... Alexandria rubs her stomach to try to help ease the pain she is in. 7....8....9....10 that's it for this bout!

Winner Alice Goodwin KO Round 5

After:
Alice raises her arms in the air as her demeanor changes from intense to smiling. She jogs over to her corner to high fives from Natascha. She is now firmly in a strong position to finish third in the group with just one more victory needed and if results go her way, she might sneak into second.

While Alexandria is going to finish last no matter what. Right now all that she is worried about is being helped over to her stool after getting an ice pack placed onto her stomach. Her cheeks flushed red as she tries to catch her breath as the liver shot took the fight out of her.

Both are cleaned up with Alice going to the middle of the ring to get her hand raised by the referee. While Alexandria nods accepting that Alice was the better fighter. She leaves the ring knowing she needs a win against Valerie Kaufman to end the tournament to make sure she doesn't end up without a single victory in the field.

While Alice has Lorella Boccia to look forwards to in her tournament final bout. Whatever happens in that bout Alice has reinvented herself this year with help from her stable. She was becoming a bit of a punch bag but this year has seen her return to the contenders table.

Out the ring steps Alice with Natascha, the bond between them is clear as they chat like old friends then people who've known each other since January. It'll be interesting to see how they celebrate after the tournament.
